Hiking one of the trails at Cape Lookout State Park
February 22, 2005 hike to the end of Cape Lookout! This hike is about 2.5 miles each way with about 300 feet elevation gain (moderate hike) with great views along the way. Some steep cliffs to be aware of in a few places. You should have your dog on a lease and if you have children with you keep them close when the trail goes along the cliffs. Plan for about a 1 hour hike each way and leave plenty of time to look for whales when you reach the point!
